BassCat Cougar 203 Hybrid — Mercury 250L Pro XS DTS (1.75)
Fully tournament-rigged Cougar 203 Hybrid, four years on the water and well cared for. Garage kept the entire time. The first two years it ran as the MLF tournament boat of Daiwa pro angler Takayuki Koike; I’ve owned and run it the last two. Shows the normal light signs of use, no deal breakers.
WARRANTY — FIRST OWNER, FULLY TRANSFERABLE
The boat and motor were given to Tak, which makes me the first registered owner. Both the BassCat hull warranty and the Mercury warranty are still in first-owner status and transfer in full to the new owner.

HOW IT RUNS
Tops out at 73. This is one of the special Hybrid 203 models that runs the legendary Champion 203 hull — that V-bottom with the reverse-chine running surface is why it handles the way it does. No chine walk, point and go. It eats rough water; when other boats are lifting off and backing down you can keep the hammer down and run right past them. Dependable: in two years all I’ve done is replace one livewell filter cartridge, change the oil/lube, and add gas.
FULL DISCLOSURE
– Fender: two weeks ago at a tournament someone hit it and left a gouge. Still fully functional — you can step on it, it’s cosmetic only (see pics). Factory color-matched replacement is $400 from BassCat; I’ve already ordered it and will ship it to you. I’ve knocked $1,000 off the asking price for it.
– Cover: at the same time the Straight Line cover ($1,600) was stolen. Police report filed, insurance bought the replacement. I have the BassCat invoice and will reroute shipping to the new owner if it hasn’t arrived by the time of sale. I’m puzzled who wanted the cover and nothing else, but well, there is no telling with people these days I guess.
Comes on its trailer.
Price: $54,999 / OBO. – Price drop to reflect comparable boats.
Location: Port St. Joe, FL 32456
