Owner's Board

GM, Ford, Dodge…..the honest test

So, Ive been getting ready to purchase another truck. I decided today that Id check each out, drive them, and give each a fair shake. Ive always been a GM owner, as my family has too. Note that each was a V8 and all were crew cab models with cloth seating. Drove the F150 today with the 5.0 V8 and was very impressed. It had the most comfortable cloth seats and the most room in the 2nd row of any of the crew cab models. Acceleration was nice in the 5.0 V8 compared to the ecoboost I drove earlier. I liked the V8 better myself, not taking anything away from the ecoboost. Drove the Dodge Ram 2nd with the Hemi. It drove nice, but rode a bit more rough. Seats were much harder than my taste. 2nd row had plenty of room, but the bench was one solid piece, not split like the GM and Ford. Until it got into all 8 cylinders, I wasnt very impressed with the responsiveness. Lastly, drove the GMC Z71, my favorite and what my last truck was. Still very smooth, but it didnt stick in the corners like I thought it did compared to the Ford. It was very comfortable, but the 2nd row had by far the least amount of leg room of the 3, which was a major issue since we have 3 kids. So........I ended up driving the Ford home for the weekend to test it out further and have been very pleased. Kind of funny how things turn out differently than expected. I wanted to follow up with an honest review given some of the recent threads on here, one of which I posted on. Keep an open mind when you are shopping for your next vehicle. Best wishes to all the BCB family and have a wonderful dealer meeting!
