Looking for a little help from the Bass Cat family after something strange this past weekend.
I was running on my starboard tank, and when it got down to about 1/4 tank, I went to blast off. About halfway through the hole shot, I got a warning tone and the motor dropped into guardian mode. My Merc gauge showed a warning the starboard tank as empty, but my fuel gauge was still reading 1/4 tank. I even visually checked the tank and could clearly see fuel in it.
Since I was in a tournament, I switched over to the port tank, and everything went back to normal. I fished the rest of the day and made a long run back. By the time I got in, the port tank was also down to about 1/4 tank.
Out of curiosity, I tried another blast off—and the same exact thing happened: warning tone, guardian mode.
My first thought is sending units, but it seems odd both would act up at the same time. Maybe something tied to the Merc gauge or fuel pickup?
Anyone run into this before or have ideas on what I should be looking at?
