How do I test my on-board charger (I fixed it!)

Trying to decide if I have a bad battery, or if my charger isnt pushing what it should on one side. When plugged up & testing on the battery w/ my meter I get 12+V on the front battery but only 10v on the rear. Which means it isnt charging fully. But after being plugged up a while the display on the boat will read a full 24v. So Im thinking the rear battery is pulling its charge from the front once the front is full. Can I unhook the charger, and test each side w/ my meter? If so what should it read? Ive charged the batteries both with my manual charger and they both held a good 12v charge so… Im afraid its the on-board charger. I dont think it could hurt anything to unhook the charger and test the leads with a multi-meter, as long as you dont let the leads connect with anything.If I am reading the specs on the Noco charger correctly, it should put out 14.4 volts when charging. http://www.geniuschargers.com/GEN3/specs

Unhook the leads and plug in charger. Lick your fingers and grab the leads.

Ok that seems to be what it is. I unplugged the charger & checked each battery. Front was a little over 12v rear was 10.9vI plugged the charger back up & checked the front battery, it jumped to 14v (13.96v) but the rear never moved off 10.9vSo thats gotta be what it is. The back battery isnt being charged, except for drawing off the front battery. Guess for now Ill just have to hook it up on the manual charger the night before a fishing trip. Cause on board chargers be SPENSIVE. unless theres something wrong thats fixable. But I doubt it.13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods

BCB or anyone that knows, do they have an inline fuse somewhere? Could it be the fuse for that bank has blown? That would be a nice easy simple fix.13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods

Fuses are inline. You need to have your battery load tested. Dont always blame the battery charger!
