Hummingbird 898C SI questions

Anyone have any experience with this unit? Will it fit in the dash of my CougarFTD. I have a X-27 in their now but would like to upgrade to the 898C SI. Can I transfer the waypoints from the Lowrance to the Hummningbird? Best place to buy? Thanks in advance for the help and comments.

I believe that there is a way to transfer the waypoints, but I cant tell you what it is. If you ask over on the Lowrance or Hbird page on Bassboatcentral.com Im sure somebody knows. You can also find good prices from the BBC sponsors. Mike

You can transfer Lowrance waypoints to Humminbird using Humminbird PC. There are even YouTube videos to show you how.The 898 will fit in the dash, though I believe you need the Bezel fro BCB. I am replacing an X15 with a 998 (same outside size as a 898) and need the bezel.BTW, I looked at the 998 and 898 side by side, and the 998 does have quite a bit more screen. As a current owner of a 797, with SI you want as much screen as possible.

You might want to look at this guy. http://www.shut-up-and-fish.com/ I just bought a 998c si from him for $1750.00 shipped. He gets good reviews on the TFF. Since he received my check yesterday, hes called me and emailed me about my order and today I got the Fed Ex tracking link. Hope this helps.john
