I noticed on my 11 PII that my livewells are filling 1/4 full when on empty. It seems that my control is still working properly and I may have some crap holding my flapper open. How easy is it to inspect/clean this? What would be the proper way to remove it?
You loosen the main nut on the actual pump threaded stem (black) and you slip it out. Though check to see that the cable has not loosened and that the cable is going to the full detent position and locking against the inside cable stop.
I tried flushing it out first with a hose and that didnt do the trick. My cable still has good tension and dont believe thats the problem either. I tried taking the valve apart but cant seem to get it undone. The hoses are really on there! Any suggestions? Right now the live well takes in water while on empty and I lose water on auto.
They should re-name their company and call it FLO-WRONG!These valves are a constant source of disappointment, and a pain in the arse to remove and replace…..not to mention expensive!
We have well expressed our desire to remove valving on boats and I was voted down by a 9 to 1 marginin favor of valves. We suggest a replacement valve or call to Flow Rite and see what you need to do. Good company!
Dont think Im going to do a darn thing actually……..regardless if you guys got voted down or not there has been an apparent problem with these in boats which is ultimately BCBs decision to use them or not. I will be using a plug from here on out. The problem I have is when I get rid of it and the 2nd owner wants to know why it doesnt work.
waknbass, we didnt vote it down, the customer base did and obviously preferred the valve. We agree though the numbers do not.
if i can fix mine, anyone can. and i found the customer service at florite to be very good during the process

I dont have a problem rebuilding it but I dont feel like cutting the hoses off and replacing them as well. I tried heating them up with a blow dryer and they are not budging….
