BCB why lock a thread? 99% of the folks who view this owners board Know that Customer Service and BASS CAT go hand in hand. I have experienced it first hand.It may be very interesting to see how a issue works out. I truly believe BCB will go the last mile in solving a problem for its customer when it is responsible. Though this would not include where a boat has had a impact or damage caused after it leaves the factory. Just a Question. Thanks.
They rarely do especially on a new thread. Im guessing there is way more to the story then we know regarding this particular post posted by a brand new forum member. This was their first post.
I think you may be right, but it may make interesting reading to see how it plays out. They may have had a 500 lb ape hanging off the handrail.
The bitter taste of a bad experience haunts us as much as any. Often we are not responsible, though we see the emotion. We know the previous ownership, and history on this boat. The thread was locked for many reasons. This particular man is apparently a good person and we wanted to keep this clean. You are wanting this thread left, though what most any of you never know is how many threads or posts on a Facebook page are deleted from a competitors sites. We are transparent and we dont silently monitor our sites. Those of you familiar with BCB know over the almost 47 years we have proven our metal. We also face those coming to a public web site more than most, because they know we are active and they are often attempting to engage or leverage us. We have hardly ever removed a thread or post, unless offensive, and we prefer to lock these. We know the gearcase condition explains much about this boat, however these posts also get out of hand with those feeling we should repair a boat when we dont, then even worse are those accosting the poster for posting on the forums instead of working through the dealerships. Those of you with new retail boats, that care for them intensely, dont want to pay for this repair in your price tag.We have purchased three (3) insurance crashed boats in the last 18 months to keep those from being trashed in poor rebuilds and resold in the market. We work hard to keep the brand clean and each of you protected. We learned this from history and we experienced it with a mid 2000s white Puma that still drifts around for sale with a 250 Verado on it. That boat started life in the NW corner and now exists somewhere in Michigan as it drifted across the country from sale to sale.
BCB Thanks for answering. History teaches us how to not repeat it at times. You learn by experience. Have a Great New Year.
Bass Cat Boats are just the best folks. So glad I did my research 13 years ago when I was looking for a boat and then bought my first Bass Cat. I will never own anything else.
I understand your desire to see how situations like this are handled from both sides. It is always great to see Bass Cats transparency on these issues but boy what a pickle that is to be in from their perspective. Its almost a no win situation. Im very glad the post was locked. Undoubtedly it was headed in a direction that did no one any good. I cant stand seeing these issues aired out on a public forum. Fortunately for me I have not had to deal with an issue like this in my 18 years of bass cat ownership. Oh, Ive had my fair share of cracked gel coat but I caused it in all cases. Ive taken the time to get to know several of the folks at the factory over the years and believe them to be honest people that will do whats right if they are at fault. It is really easy for the public to make an improper assumption based on what one owner types on an open forum such as this. In any case I hope the owner of this rig gets it fixed one way or another and enjoys his boat. I wish that for everyone, that they have a great experience with their boat no matter the brand or type of rig. In most cases your chances of that are pretty dang good in a Bass Cat!Chris CoupelPaulina, La.
And I thought they may have locked it based on my comment and recent questions. Thats a relief!
