I want to get a windshield for my 2000 Sabre and noticed a low and high profile windshield available. What are the differences between the two? I want it to block the wind while running down the lake and I am wondering if the low profile is adequate. Does anyone have pics of these two?
The low Profile was a simple dress windscreen. It would not be very functional. It was just a cosmetic plex. short screen. Back then, some folks did not want a windscreen, and the low ones made the boats more attractive. BCB
BigBassJC, You definitely want to heed BCBs advice. I have had low profile windshields on previous boats. They look nice, sleek, and fast, but do little to nothing when it comes to protection while running.
I agree. I have low profile windsheild on my 2002 classic. They do not block the wind while running, but most prefer the look of the low windshields. You can look at the low profile windsheild in the owners gallery, pantera classic, Kent Charles. Hope that helps. KentKent Charles 2002 Pantera Classic & 200 Yamaha VMax
I have a low-profile on my non-basscat boat. Its main function is to direct flying bugs directly into my face at speeds beyond 80. It is almost perfectly angled to accomplish that task and does so with great aplomb…2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200
