Mercury: 225 Pro XS Power Trim Question

I recently wrote about my boat behaving differently running with less lift. This weekend, I figured out that my trim calibration has changed. Before, It would stop trimming at 6.0. and now it will trim to 6.6 or 6.8 before it stops. It is also begining to sound a bit strained when it it lowered. Im wondering if I may have air in the system, or if the pump may be begining to fail. Any tips to ensure the trim is working properly? Is the power trim covered under Mercs warranty? Thanks guys.

It is usually the trim motor, or connection of that motor to the hydraulic pump. We would have our dealer look at it if you can tell it is straining. Though the gauge sender wont be a big issue. We dont use a gauge to trim any way. Just the feeling, RPM, and speed. We only use a gauge to see if it is down for take off, and then we always hit the button and listen by habit.BCB
