Looking forward to our first BCB Invitational! Which ramp and is there an entry fee?
My overseas rotation finally is allowing me to make a BCB invitational. I’ll be coming in from NW Arkansas and plan getting there a few days early. Does anyone know which ramp BCB will be utilizing? Look forward to meeting everyone.
What ramp or marina is the event being launched from? Looking for a VRBO/AirBNB that is somewhat close to the launch area but haven’t been able to find exactly where?
Following…
Most likely Lake Norfork Marina, used to be called Henderson Marina. Right across the big bridge coming from Mountain Home.
Is there usually a cut off/prefish period for the OI?
Thinking of coming for the first time and trying to plan travel/timing accurately since we have never been on that lake before and we are on the west coast. Thanks in advance!
Corey
There is no off limits or designated practice days for the OI if that’s what you mean.
Any word on registration and prices for tournament yet? Sure is getting close to time.
What ramp ??
You can launch at any of the ramps on the lake, and there are 8 launching ramps within 2 miles of takeoff.
We always use Lake Norfork Marina, Henderson, AR for takeoff and checkin. The ownership has changed and we do not know the dock (boat slip) capability there at this time. Panther Bay also has boat slip options and usually they are full. Panther is directly across the lake on the Mountain a home side.
The registration is at Hickory Park, in Mountain Home. This year the only requirements for everyone are Registration, Checkout – Takeoff, and Checkin – Fish Release at the end of the day.
All counted measured fish will be required to be retained for this event. At the end of Day 1 there will be 20 random teams selected outside the Top 20, which will have their catches audited for accurate length in TourneyX.
All fish are required to be submitted through the TourneyX app, none are to be directly from your library. Phone libraries will be required to be accessible at audit measurement, for digital verification of catch and authenticity, verifying catch on tournament day, picture authenticity and original location.
Days 1 and 2 will be in the TourneyX platform for catch/stringer, and Big Bass will be weighed each day. Payment will be submitted by check and distributed via mail post event. No award payments will be made on site.
<1>Striper/Hybrid/White Bass, <2>Walleye and <3>Ozark Bass are Wild Card fish and will not be entered in TourneyX, and will be weighed each day separately, as presented at end of each day.
We will be asking teams to post Wild Card fish separately on our Facebook account posts for those individual species.
Bass Cat Facebook will have separate ( Daily 1&2 ) Wild Card posts for posting each species Wild Card submissions, in order for participants to track approximate size and determination as to submission. Largest fish only in this category and anglers posting fish should reduce unnecessary direct contact by anglers.
25 Wild Cards will be issued daily throughout the field as in years past. Those payments will be mailed to anglers post event. There will be no smallest stringer under the TourneyX platform to again reduce contact.
Day #3 will be the Top 25 teams only and we will weigh those Top 25 teams to determine the overall winner. Team images will be taken of the Top 25, though no group settings.
Thank you all for your cooperation on this event.

Regarding the boat launch location and check-in and “weigh-in”. Is the expectation to trailer to Lake Norfolk Marina in Henderson, check-in and have livewell checks performed, then proceed to ramp of choice to launch then return on trailer for “weigh-in”? Or.. Are we able to launch at ramp of choice and make our way, by boat, to the Marina for check-in before blastoff(Lines in time) then return at the end by boat for “weigh-in”? I am a little confused on how this process is supposed to work. I would expect the morning boat ride to be in the dark for the second scenario.
Thanks!
Second scenario. You should be good if you take off at the crack of dawn, it isn’t strictly necessary to arrive in the dark although I’ve done that a few times.
Sparker,
I had to do a little research because it was not making sense to me. This is Tourney X terminology, and the Check-in/Check-out is done in the app to start your day and mark location in addition to closing out the day. All new to me.
Yeah, it’s a regular tournament except we will measure the fish and submit on the app and put them in the livewell and bring them to the weigh in to possibly be measured by the staff. Measuring fish is confusing to me especially since I usually catch short fat ones. 😁
Any location update available for the 2022 OI?
