Pantera Classic 150hp vs 200hp

Says that the PC was built to run well with the 150hp and of course it would be best with the 200hp.What speeds can I expect with each motor?Is this boat going to be weight sensitive with the 150hp like the Margay is with the 115hp?

Even if speed is not a concern the hole shot will be night and day between the 2 choices.

I drove a Classic with a 200 at the Dealer meeting. Runs in the low 70s.My guess a 150 in the low to mid 60s.

Low 60s with the 150 to mid 70s for the 200 . — Resale a lot easier with the 200 though .

I am 57 so no resale here. This will be my last boat and first fiberglass rig. I am fine with low 60s.

The speed wouldnt be my concern, it is the hole shot that I feel you wont be happy with. I have been in a lot of 18 boats with 150 optis on them and when you have more than 1 person and a full live well, hole shot isnt very good on that shortblock. I have also been in a pantera classic with the 2.5L 200 and the hole shot isnt good either. Take it for what its worth but I would never put a 150 on a 19+ boat like the new Classic.

Fuel economy on a Pantera with a 200 is pretty good cruising around 50 mph. Holeshot is crazy. Think you would be happier with the 200.
