Have a 4 blade 21 pitch on 95 Pantera 2.19 foot.Having trouble getting on plane Any advice would be appreciated.
Your local marine dealer / repair facility should be able to refer you to a prop shop , or you can ship it to Croxtons . ( One of the best in the business ) — I did what youre asking about with a 3 blade Yamaha prop and the results were fantastic . ( 88 Pantera 2 w/ 150 pro-v Yamaha ) — I gained 500 R.P.M. and 3 M.P.H. — It also improved the holeshot and bow lift . — Cost should run between 100 to 150 bucks . — I currently run this same prop on my 99 Classic w/200 Pro-v , and its a ROCKET !! — havent GPSd it with this prop , but it will bury the 75 MPH speedometer with 2 guys / gear / livewells full . ( Motor is not stock however ) — Id say to give it a try , it worked for me . — Hoss
Mark Croxton is the go to guy for many people. Another option is to get in touch with Doug at D and T Boatworks in Livingston, Louisiana. Doug will steer you in the right direction as he knows set ups on Cats very well, and I believe he deals with a prop shop more local to you. Call him. 601 590 3109.
There is also Power Tech Propellers in Shreveport. They are great to deal with and do excellent work. They refinished a prop on my old boat and it looked brand new. Price was reasonable and service was excellent.2017 Eyra / 250 Merc Pro XS

Would it be worth it having the prop worked over to a 24 pitch to get the rpms up a little? Any good prop guys in Louisiana and approx how much of charge. Thanks.I am no expert but I did own a 2005 P4 that I think I ran a 26 Tempest Plus (3 blade vs. your Trophy). I would consistently run 71 mph WOT with that prop. I think a prop change might be your better way to spend $$. Something just doesnt sound right you only getting 63 mph at WOT. I just dont know that working your 4 blade down to a 24 pitch will help you. Hopefully some other P4 owners will respond to what they are running and give some advice. Good luck. Everyone should believe in something. I believe Ill just go fishing!
Either you have a fuel flow restriction, carrying a massive load, or other problem with engine. Youre 5mph short of what you should be seeing. Are you the initial owner of boat ? If so has it ran faster in the past? As said above somethi g doesnt sound exactly right. You might try borrowing a wheel for test purposes just to see what the results are. Good luck.
thanks for all of the imput. not the original owner but have owned it for 6 years and that the best it has done. played with the jackplate height as well but seems to running good. I did forget to say this is tornament loaded. Phil you dont think the RPMs is a little low? The boat handles very well but i just thought the rpms was low. The prop probably needs to be worked any way. Couple of small dings but nothing major.

If youre close to me I would gladly loan you a 25 Fury and we could go run it if you are nearby. Yes your rpms are low but you are using a 4 blade prop and you dont know what the previous owner has done to it. Something is definitely not right with your set up. My P4 was the easiest boat to drive that I have ever been in and it would do 71 mph every time I got in it. You could just have the wrong prop. Maybe borrow someones prop if you can. If you are near me we can get together. I am in St. Amant La. Everyone should believe in something. I believe Ill just go fishing!
What brand and type of motor?
