Puma vs Cougar

cougar layout would be my choice. I had an 09 puma and would have bought a cougar, had it been in my budget

I love my Cougar FTD floor plan. I love the day box on the front deck. The hulls are the same on the Puma and Cougar; just different deck layout.

I love my Puma and its layout. It took me a couple of trips to get everything organized that made sense for me, but now I have more storage than I can use and it is very convenient, organized and efficient while fishing – literally have several empty compartments. I like the fact that Bass Cat gives us the option of the 2. The top decks really arent that much different though. I picked the Puma because that was the deal sitting in front of me not because of the layout. I would like to hear some feedback on why some of you like the Cougar floorplan different. Correct me if I am wrong, but arent the back deck, 2 rod lockers and center compartment the same. If so, that only leaves the small cooler, day box and the front compartments as the differences. Does the Cougar have a net storage upfront?

I cant use mine because I stacked full of way too much tackle. My bad.

There are some hull revisions since 2005 that did significantly change some performance character. The differences on the floor plans are consumer preference and we find ourselves liking that Puma FTD deck, similar to yours for those that a MPH is not critical. Other like the larger open front boxes for their uses in the Cougar FTD.
