Depending on year and model there are a couple of installs. Some are bracketed from the rear, some have urethane retaining them and require a small slit around the face, and some utilize both methods.
I removed my Helix 7 a few weeks ago. It was flush mounted in the dash at the bow and was bracketed from the rear… the nut required a 5/16″ wrench. Access to the nut was a tight squeeze… had to remove the trolling motor power receptacle cover plate.
