Type of gauges? SC or Analog?
We do have red hat covers in Parts. Though the blue bulbs is a good idea also. The dimmer is out there, and A Ten did build one, though BCB did not use it.
Sorry, but I dont know how to tell. They look like standard guages with an arm that moves along dial if that is any help.
messed aruund with jack plate on my 06 sabre w/150 opti, raised about 1 in. over 3 adjustments and trial run , the boat now drives 110% better with a smoother ride better steering response everything, couldnt imagine how much a difference it made still have 12 wated psi. if i dont overtrim and better holeshot. question for BCB would be when do u know when or if u nwwd those water scoops on them 150s i here they all have water psi issues with the intakes they haveLast edited by smbass on April 19th, 2009, 9:56 pm, edited 1 time in total.
If it were our engine, we would put scoops on the 150 Opti just for safety sake. You will drop pressure in the corners some, and you may only drop flow and retain pressure, though heating can still occur.
If you remove the front bow panel and the recessed foot control, then you should be able to reach the back of those switches and slip them out if necessary. Pull power from those and under the console there should be a loose wire for power in the color of pink. BCB
How do I remove the accessory switch? The trim switch comes out easily but I would prefer to use the acc. switch.
You have to depress the tabs that friction hold it in place. There are two on one side in each corner, and two on the opposing side. We know it is not a simple task, though if you knew how then it would be fairly easy. If you have a Carling switch in your boat you can see the back of, then you will understand. The power to the trim is also shared on the Acc. BCB
You can get 8 footers under the rod holders per guys who use them for swim baits and I know 7 footers in the tubes if you use the tubes toward the inside of the boat. I normally had a couple 7s and three 7.5s in my Sabre at any given time. With a DC you do have to take your time getting them in, Rod Gloves help the cause.
Thanks for the info John..
My brother Flyswatter just got a 2012 Sabre FTD. He removed the rod tubes and absolutely loves it. Lots more room for the 8 footers he carries and much easier in and out
My 92 Sabre trailer had brakes. The original owner did not do any maintenance or service so they did not work. I never had a problem towing with a 1/2 ton Chevy extended cab. Brakes might have been an option on the smaller rigs.Jim EbarbMany, LA (Toledo Bend Lake)2004 Cougar/ 225 OptimaxHumminbird Helix 12 Chirp SI on BalzOut Mount at bowLowrance HDS 7 at bowHumminbird Helix 12 Mega SI on Ram Mount at ConsoleLowrance HDS 8 in dash at console
I have a 20ft inboard ski boat/trailer with no brakes and have pulled with anything from jeep cherokee, s10 blazer, durango, & titan. Ill admit the jeep was a little scary on stopping. I think having brakes on a trailer for a Sabre/Classic/Margay is a bit overkill, especially if pulling with a full size vehichle.
What are you towing with? I have a Sabre and it is easily towed with my F150. One less thing to worry bout if you dont have brakes.
One less thing to worry about I agree!Towing with a version 1 tundra (03). Was just curious if its possible that it was orignally equipped without brakes.
