Total Scan Transducer

I just ordered the lowrance HDS 9 and HDS 7 gen3 bundle with total scan package for my PII. Where is the best spot to mount the skimmer transducer? Will the transducers that come with this package eliminate the need for the transducers that are in the hull.

We dont know which transducers are included in the box kits as these are not available to BCB in OEM offerings. The in hull at the stern will be required for operation on plane.

The way I understood it was if you use the pdrt-wsbl that is in the bilge.the unit will automatically default to that tranducer for sonar and water temperature reading. Even though the totalscan tranducer has this ability. The total scan is suppose to be a “one tranducer does it all”. But if used in conjunction with other tranducer it will loose some of it capabilities..this was the way I understood it explain to me. And maybe I misunderstood it. Talk the Bryan at bb&g . He definitely can explain it better.but please keep us posted.Also the totalscan big advantage over the lss-2 is the totalscan has the 360 view ability if the 3d processor is used..I was wanting to upgrade one unit myself and I was basically just wanting to use all my existing pdrt-wsbl and lss-2 tranducer. Basically unhook my hds gen 2 and hook a new generation 3 in its place. I was told this can be done. The package includes the spotlight scan with mount for trolling motor, total scan skimmer with mount for jackplate or transom, Point 1 GPS antenna, and NMEA 2000 starter kit. I wasnt really sure on wether or not I will hook my current tranducers to the new units as well or leave them out. I will most likely take it somewhere to have installed due to my lack of knowledge in this area.

Will do. I was going to order just the 9 but the package seemed like a better deal so i had to go with that one.

You ordered the “Boat n a Box” combination set up. This is a good buy and we will be stocking as soon as stock is available. The in hull transducer will still be needed for readings on plane. The plugs in the back of the unit still accommodate the blue connection for that transducer. The total scan has the ability to read sonar, DI, SI and to read the Chirp settings. Im unsure about the 360 but will check into that. The 360 has to go through a separate “box” to be read and Im pretty sure its a different transducer. Thanks for the replies, that was what i was wanting to know. I may add the sonar hub later if I want to upgrade further to get the 360. Ill be plenty happy with just having the upgraded imaging options, currently have just sonar. Hopefully it will arrive before the weekend so I can get it installed and try it out. Will give an update after I have everything set up.

These are exact same as I ordered on my boat that I will pick up tomorrow if u would like I can take pictures of transducer placement if it will help any.
