Learned something yesterday, stopped a restaurant on the way home from the lake and set the alarm system. I forgot to turn it off when we left and must have hit a bump which allowed the one of the mercury switches to make contact. I do not how long we drove down the highway with horn beeping, between the radio and talking with my brother. When we exit-ted and had to stop we heard it. opps.

Them alarm systems will get you in trouble quick. I will tell off on myself here. Back in 1994 I got a brand new truck my first with one of them fancy alarm systems. I sure was proud. but I sure was embarrassed one day. The first time I launched my boat with it I backed down the ramp. left the key in the ignition with the ruck turned off and the parking brake set like I had done a 1000 times with my old truck. I unhooked the winch strap climbed in the boat and about the time I sat down I heard the Beep Beep and saw the lights blink once. you guessed it. My keys were locked in the truck on the boat ramp. Im glad it was not busy that day. Them new truck are hard to get into. This type of thing only happens to ya once. I now keep a spare door key on my wallet even thought it has never happened again.

Those mercury switches have a few moments of delay, though not much. The turns will hold the mercury against the contact and engage the system in a corner. You are far from the first! BCB

Yep been there Also;;;;; Plus this one I have a secondary system (because of my High End GPSs LCX 111C and 37C )on my PII that has two Proxsimity Sensors Outer rings overlap at 10ft Dia. and Inner ring within 1ft of either GPS. When you get too close to the boat about 2.5 ft in any direction it tells you in a loud voice ( step back you are too close to the boat and the owner is about to be paged) with or without the cover on at the outer ring, if the inter ring of the sensor is violated the alarm goes off and I get paged and my remote start beeping. Up north Sleeping nicely and the thing starts going crazy waking up everyone including me and my remote is beeping like crazy Im in the room going though my clothes to find the thing, partner is room is going What the HELL lol it got real windy and the cover started moving up and down the sensors did thier job tooo good. lol I think I woke up the whole camp at 2:30 am before I could get it shut down lo lol lol
