I have a 2008 250 HPDI on a 2008 Cougar FTD with the round multifunction command link gauges. I am redoing the wiring for my graphs and accidentally pulled a wire out of butt connector under the console. It was a black wire connected to two yellow wires that terminate at the back of the gauges. I then discovered the wire had been cut back in the bilge by a previous owner. The wire had been cut at a butt connector and had been connected to a 10-12 ga green wire. I found some info on the web that indicated the yellow wires are used to turn the gauge backlights on when the ignition is turned on. If they are not connected, then the gauges are only lit when the navigation lights are turned on. This is how my gauges work now. Is this infact what the yellow wires do?
