The 900s is expensive but a less expensive option is the 797c by hummingbird which has the side imaging. I LOVE IT! I am very frustrated with Lowrance right now. I bought my New 2007 Puma in June of this year and ALL THREE Lowrance units that the boat came with are down. Waiting on Lowrance to repair and send back. I Do like the LMS-332 when it comes to the GPS modes more than the Hummingbird. But hey I am just one man!

I dont get any readings at 70mph besides GPS. The transducer is out of the water so I am not even getting depth. With the Lowrance flasher out, depth is pretty important at 70 mph especially around here with the water levels LOW! Now this is rumor only or maybe a question.. Are the Lowrances now made in Mexico? I plead ignorance. The boat dealer I bought my BCB at said that another boat co. went to HummingBird because of so many issues with Lowrance. He might have been trying to make me feel better about all my problems but I was wondering if that was true or not.

Thanks, I had seen those remote lights that go on the bow of the boat. BPS has them for fourhundred and some odd dollars and just was wandering if they were any count.

I like the robo worm for some things( dark green with chart. tail works good around here), but I have found that the Strike King 3X is a great bait for drop shotting. 4″ finesse worms in your lakes favorite color is hard to beat. They are about impossible to sling off and they seem to take a tremendous amount of abuse. They are really good when you are just nose hooking the rig. I have won a fair amount of money just slowing down and learning to fish this. I have tried several different types and in a casting situation this would be my pick. The rest of them rip at the nose to easily and you go through several baits and eventually loose your patients. Only one mans opinion, so good luck and God Bless!

See how easy that was for you guys to respond. I have always said that great food can be made bad by poor service but decent food can be made great by awesome service. This is also true with any product that you are selling. I truly bought a Basscat because of the things I had heard about how they take care of their customers and I knew if I spent that much money I wanted something that would be of top quality and acompany which have a team of PROFESSIONALS that would be willing to stand behind their product. It seems like some companies outgrow their products and get to big for their customers. I truly pray that God will bless the Basscat company and I hope you NEVER forget what things make and will continue to make you successful.

My long time fishing partner found a woman that loves to fish. Never think that you are inseparable. The hardest part of it is that I am a minister and he ask me to marry him. I wonder, is it inappropriate if I object when I ask if anyone has any legal reason that these two should not be joined? I have now inherited my brother who I grew up fishing with and although he is a little rusty sometimes, I love fishing with him. The scary part with him is he is expecting his 5th child in May 08. Time will tell how this works out. I dont mind about the fish slime and all the other thing mentioned as much but when I say ” be sure not to put that spotlight face down on the carpet when you set it down.” and I turn around 10 minutes later and smell that funny burning smell only to see the HOT spotlight face down on the carpet….. or the partner that always tries to throw 70 ft behind the boat in the opposite direction you are going and constantly gets hung up and you have to stop forward momentum get him undone and as soon as you get back to the original position, he has thrown to the same spot and got hung up again.. These are my pet peeves. With all that said I really enjoy the friendships that I have made on the water and look forward to meeting some of you soon in Guntersville!Last edited by BassTrooper on October 23rd, 2007, 2:28 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I replaced my Lowrance (which I cant stand…) with a hummingbird 797 in the dash and it works great. The wire fishing in the Puma was tough also but I did not mount the GPS in the same place. I left the Lowrance GPS where it was incase, God Forbid, I ever have to go back to it and I mounted the Hbirds GPS module in the outside part of the driver console. Works great. Only issue beside the wire fishing was the mounting bracket had to be motified slightly but if I can do it anybody can. Lowrance could learn ALOT from BassCat when it comes to customer service!!!!!! Good Luck and pay attention when and where you mount your transducer..

I have a 2007 Puma and they were not standard. They are not too difficult to install.
