Patrick I have not fished out of a Puma yet but own a p4. I went with the p4 for the ability to move around docks, and fish shallow. I can fish in 1 foot of water. I know this can be done with the Puma wide body also. As stability goes there is not a more stable 19 foot class boat in the market. The p4 has a wide front deck for comfort for you and partner.. Enough storage for a month of fishing. The only difference would be with the Puma a better ride you are gaining a foot of boat… I have no complaint’s with the ride or fishability… My p4 is easy to drive and runs low 70’s loaded. Good luck on your choice either boat will make you a fine fishing machine. Earle

Pomme is generally clear up around the dam and stained to dirty in both rivers. This time of year you can still catch em on points and ledges in brush, you also can go up the rivers and throw a little cranckbait or plastic to the laydowns and stumps… The lake is only around 8,000 acres and it fishes small. Good luck, wish I could help more any more general info drop me a line. Earlebasscat04@centurytel.net

I have 1 rod spooled all with florocarbon 10#. And 1 with braid and a 10 foot leader of floro. I tied it off with a blood knot but I dont use this rig often. Im afraid of the knot…. With this rig you have 2 conections I have a hard enough time with one knot. But I can say the few times I have fished with the braid and floro I have had no problems. The advantage with this rig to me is its more sensetive and you can sweep your rod and get better hook set…Earle

Okie, I have been having the same problem. I check my batteries every 2 weeks, went to Lake Of The Ozarks in December my optimax would not hardly turn over. I fished the whole day and did not use any of my electronics or pumps and the motor started everytime. Went to Stockton lake a couple weeks ago, the opti would just turn over but not start. I tried jumping with cables no go. I then unhooked the wires and crossed to the trolling batteries to start it and it started then put the wires back on the cranking battery. Fished all day with no electronics! Got home plugged the boat in and all batteries charged in a couple minutes!! I thought this was strange since I had been on the troller hard…. My cranking battery is a year old Pro Guide second one I have had my boat is a 04 P4! Any thoughts? Earle

I really like the Strike King Series 5 and 6, and the DD22s. I change out all hooks to Mustads right when I take em out of the package. It seems like I change hooks once a day also. I have come to realize that im going to lose some fish just not as many as I would with the factory hooks… good fishing, Earle
