I fished a tournament on Hudson Lake on Saturday and drove up to Grand to stay with some close friends ( EX friends now ) that night. I took my wife to eat and go check on the last minute details of the touranment on Sunday and see how many ladies were entered and then say good nightI asked my buddie that started this whole tournament what he wanted me to do in the morning because being a major part of this and on the staff I needed a job and he said I could put in at 4:15 A.M and catch the boats arriving by water to tell them where to go to get livewell checked and entered if they had not done so and I took on the job with great joyWe got back to my best friends house ( ex best friends ) and my wife guided me back to the trailer to hook up. I was lined up perfect I got out and looked yep it will sit right on the ball no problem in the morning just lower the jack and we are off. My wife said are we going to hook it up tonight I said nope in the morning in case we need the truck for something. She said you really should hook it up tonight in case we need to move it for Jeff to leave I said no it is okay.We tarped the boat and motor and went in for a great visit with the ex friends and at 1:00 A.M went to bed. Well 3:00 A.m is early in my book but I got up and took a shower and put on make up ( ,she wore the make up ) I am impatient at these deals anyways so I was rushing my wife with come on we got to get fuel and ice and on the water by 4:10 to make it to the cove.Well we loaded all our gear so we could come straight home from the tournament and not have to drive all the way around to there house again we would head straight home after the tournament. I unplugged the extesion cord because I have drove off like that before and a 50 chird going 70mph down the road looks odd in the mirror in the morning and the plug at home is ripped clean from the wall and then laying in the shop floorI swung real wide to leave his drive way do not want to hit my ex very best friends mail box then swung extra wide to miss the pot hole t the end of his street when I turn do not want the trailer to frop off in it. I swung real wide to get on the highway because we do not want to fish the trailer out of the 12 deep ditch on the right and drove 7 1/4 miles to town to get fuel I was swinging real wide to go into the gas drive way because it is narrow when my cell phone rang.I answered and my ex best friend said hey you forget something at the house when you left. I did a real quick check wife, beside me , pillows (check) blankets (check) over night bag (check) shaving kit and contacts (check, check) nope got it all. He said check again I said look what ever I left bring to the tournament with you because you guys are fishing the tournament too. He said I can not do that I said look then keep it because if I left it and do not know what it is I do not need it I am busy I am getting out to get fuel.He said I would bring it but it will not fit in the Durango I said what the he$$ could I have possibly left that he would not put in the Durango. I said jeff give me clue here he said you need to come get your boat out from in front of my truck so I can go fish.I looked in the mirror and said Sh$t real loud and my wife who can not here our conversation but seen me look in the mirror looks over her shoulder out the window and slowly looks at me like I just asked her to have a sex change or something and says no you did not forget the boat.He said it would stay just between us. Well I got to the ramp a 1:15 late and the guys all were waiting on me. They asked what happen you over sleep well a man has to stand up and be honestat this point and the light went on up stairs in my head and I said um……Yes we over slept. My wife looks at me with that are you out of your mind look and I said honey we need to get out there they are waiting on us no need to sit here explaing the very workings of the alarm clock so we launched the boat and headed out the whole time her shasking her head at what a master piece she has married. Well.three things happened that day at weigh in my ex best friend told the announcer before the start of the weigh in and I did not know this and he called me up on the stage in front of a few hundred people for what I thought was to give the ladies prizes out. He introduced me as the only guy he has ever met that can forget the brightest yellow boat in the world I knew then that this was bad for me.Well the second bad part was the fact in 6 years my wife has tried so hard to catch me in a mistake and this one I handed to her on a platter. The third is hopw can I remain to be friends with a guy that should ahve called me much sooner instead of waiting for me to reach town.I hope your weekend went better than mine my wife has me enrolled in the I shoulda listened to her school at this time and I have to go study now for the test on Friday. Now whwere did I leave my no#2 pencil ummmmmmm…..The sad part is this is a 100% true story and I do not need friends because if we were not friends I would not have been there..

Please keep in mind I am the same proud owner of the bright yellow Puma with the flames all over the cowling I posted just a few weeks back. Then think of the story and ask yourself how do you miss that not being back there. I did all day today….

That is a really pretty boat nad glad to have you in the family. I do have a question of the ladder under the goal though. That is called sheating around here when you use a ladder to dunk the ball. I see you are moving to Texas and hope you do not try the ladder trick down there as some might get upset…lol Welcome aboard and awesome boat.

You will be able to monitor fuel in both the front tank and rear tanks by scrolling and selecting left or right tank. You can also see the fuel in the rear tanks by looking in the battery storage compartment.

Martin very good post. I am the first to admit that I am thinking about what pattern to try at next spot more than I am the trip there. I am glad you brought this up to remind guys like me to take a minute to observe the things around us and then worry about the pattern once we drop the trolling motor. I am always looking at spots to fish while driving and think should I stop there or up there and not looking at where I am going as much as I should. Thansk for the eye opener.

Joe, I do not have one but if I were looking for one I would deffinetly call Linda Colt at 918-438-8747 in customer service. She works at Lowrance and she san tell you where the closest place to you would be or she might even send you one direct. Tell her Herb sent you and she will get you hooked up. She often times will exchange one out for you.

Made mine too. Anyone that has stayed there before can you tell me if it is alright to leave boat at the slip overnight or is there a rule not allowing us to leave boat on the water?

Thanks guys last year was our very first OI and I made up my mind I would never ever miss one. You guys are the reason me and my wife enjoyed it so much. Everyone we met made us feel like we were friends for years.Last edited by Ok Bigbass on October 12th, 2007, 4:40 pm, edited 1 time in total.
