The main difference between XR6 and EFI is fuel economy, both are good motors
what size motor, what electromics &where are you located
could you send pics to [email protected]
had same problem on my puma, remove bilge vent to get to the wires. spent hour on phone with lowrance they tried to convince me it was the puck also, but i have 2 pucks on the boat & i swaped them and still had the problem. i read their self help which said to check antenna to see if it had voltage, it did. i checked main power hook up and found no fuses installed, the crimps on the butt splices were made using the non insulated side of the crimper on insulated butt splices i re crimped new butt splices using the proper crimper and the problem has gone away.
i dont know the size of the wire bass cat uses, but another option is to upgrade the size of your wire from acc. to your unit to help with power loss
if you have access to a heat gun, or high powered hair dryer thats how i removed them from my 2009 puma (i used the heat gun)
i used a rat tail file and took it slow no more problems
try mike lott at bowden marine he was a big help finding my boat
i would put the unit on a ram mount, my lcx 27 was installed in dash on my puma and the unit went out. none of the newer units will fit in this hole, so i have to get a bigger unit or fab a plate to cover where it was. i will never have another in dash install again because of this.( just imho)
There as motels in Morgan city and a state park also
have you looked on ebay
Look in bass pro catalog ram mount with plate to attach antenna. No drilling of the hull
Do you have hydraulic steering, if so check your fluid level
Contact basscat with your hull id number and they will be able to tell you the colors
Open face plate door should be 6-8 square head screws, thats how it is on mine
