Thanks for all the quick responses. I think most cougars came with an 8″ plate, mine has a 6″. I think that may be playing a little factor as well. My biggest challenge is getting this thing on pad. I cannot seem to get it on pad unless i am atleast 5300 rpm and to do this I have to trim so high that my rooster tail is higher than my cowling by 2-3 feet.
This is a ram mount that you mount to the front deck and then you cant tighten an adjustable clamp to the tm shaft to stabilize it for over the road travel. No hardware included. This is want I want to add to the front deck:http://www.cabelas.com/product/Ram-reg- … ~brand-RAMI just want to make sure I dont hit anything underneath drilling or screwing the mount to the front deck. Jeff,Now worries. I did call the factory and they suggested bolting for the long term if I am skinny and have long arms. That is not the case, so I went with option 2: 1″ stainless screws into the deck. Worked like a charm. Thanks
Thanks for the help guys. I do run a trophy and I run a river that is tough to navigate with moving sandbars. I hope to follow some leaders another 40 miles up the river to learn and gps the main route. And maybe catch a few smallies on the way. 80 miles round trip…..based on all of your information I should be ok.Thanks again.
I talked to the factory and they could not give me a definite yes. Mine is a single console ftd with motorguide pinpoint xi5 tm. He thought the dimensions could be a little different but said it “should” fit but may not be a perfect fit. He said the only way is to do some measuring of the boats and see how close they are but, I am not sure how to do that accurately and consistently between the 2 of us? Any thoughts?
