07 pantera 2 should i run a 25 fury? Or 26 fury?

I am running a 25 fury now but the hole shot in not very good. The motor is a mercury 3.0 opti. I have a hydraulic jackplate also and still I have to feather the throttle so it dont blow out the prop. I can run around 70 with two people at a moderate load. It also has two talons on the back. My rpms are around 5690 tweaking the jackplate as I run. I would like to get a better hole shot. These are Also winter times. Water temp around 45 deg. Does anybody have any information that would help me.

If you cant turn the 25 dont put that 26 on you will surely be disappointed!! Going up 1 pitch will cost you around 200 rpms and your hole shot will suffer even more!! Try a 25 or 26 tempest or a 25 trophy!!

Gosh my hole shot on my 12 PII is neck snapping. Im running the 200ProXS, 25 Fury with the plate set at 1/8″ below flush. Im running 71 by myself at 5690RPM.

A buddy of mine has a 2011 P2 with Merc 200 pro xs.His boat jumps out of the hole with a 25 Fury.He does not have a hydraulic plate though.I think his top end would be around 71-72ish with the right load, etc.I cant recall the rpms hes running though. Sorry.

Yeah, Id think that 25P would be pretty fast out of the hole. I have an 07 Classic/200 Opti and Im turning a 26P Fury. My hole shot is awesome. I can stay with or beat the 250s on hole shot. I would think the 25P would be as good or better pushing a hair heavier hull. Id recommend on take off you make sure the motor is trimmed all the way under and make sure the hydraulic plate is down a bit. The Fury likes to run deeper on hole shot and running. Im running my plate 1/4″ below flush. Also, you shouldnt have to feather gas but you may have to trim up some as soon as bow drops coming out of the hole. Try that but keep your foot in the gas. I went through that feeling of the blow out too and found trimming up some as soon as the bow drops takes care of the feeling the props blowing out and brings RPMs down a bit. I think a 25 1/2 P would be perfect for the PII and Classic hulls…

Those talons and hydraulic JP are killing you. I could not believe the difference in hole shot after adding 2 power poles to my Puma FTD with a 26 Fury. The trophy will have a worse hole shot from my experience with my PII. Stick with the Fury and drop to a 24 if holeshot is your main concern. You should also drop your plate a smidge if you are blowing out.

I get 71 with my 26P before the chine walk gets me. There is more there if the driver (me) didnt suck. I think on a longer stretch then I have access to normally and a good driver shed get to 73 maybe 75. As it is I can get from hole shot to 60 in a little over a hundred yards (just me, full main tank, empty live wells, ton of gear). She gets up and goes. Takes closer to 200 yards with 2 anglers, water in wells, plus extra gear (our club co-anglers travel heavy!).
