175 Verado vs 175 ProXS

Does anyone have any experience with the 175 Verado? My father has a 200 Verado and he loves it on his bass boat. Its a 7-8 year old motor with no issues so far. Would you stick with the ProXS or look into the Verado? Steering linkage, would it be the same? My brother in law just bought a 4 stroke mercury for his frog boat. He loves it!!.I debated the issue myself. Though I was considering the SHO. Probably would have went that way. Even though I perform my own maintience when possibly. Occasionally you still need a good wrench. Wat Ive heard people either love them or hate them. Though I hear of very few issues with the verado. Though im b sure thats because in the bass boat industry. The 2 stroke is more common. The Pro XS is cheap enough on oil and fuel that it seems like changing to the Verado would be more money than its worth. Im sure the Pro XS is lighter, faster, cheaper, and less expensive to swap since it has a Pro XS on it now. If that matters to you. Just my opinion. Good luck with your decision.

One point is you should be planning on keeping a Verado if you intend to go that way because resale is harder at this time.
