Cougar / Evinrude 250HO 2011 prop testing…

I looked at the picture and my buddy definitely has the SLE gearcase. We are also in Canada and we fish the exact same water as Scott…in fact, the rude comes from the same dealer. Like I said, were going to try a 25 Fury next and see what happens… What do u suggest we try as far as motor height?

Denny Rheads number from Doug McGee should be valid too since thats a puma ftd hull. I just get worried that the 26 fury when hes solo and light will have significant blowout when taking off as the above thread seems to show quite a bit of issue with that. I would go through this thread at length. He decided on 27 fury.Good thing with you being up north. Im no longer going to try a 29 or 30 pitch. I spoke with Mark Croxton he seem to think that because of the girth on the lower unit we need a prop with a larger diameter. Perhaps a 15. The gear case pushes water further away from the blades so in theory we need a prop that can reach out a little further. I havent test that theory and I dont know who makes a 15 by 26pitch. So I sticking with my 28 Raker II. It runs fast or fast enough for me. Ive been passed once and it was by KPink.
