I posted on BBC also but responses were very limited.
2002 Pantera Classic (original owner and repowered in 2009) with dealer installed “Hot Foot” (Fast Foot brand actually). After upgrading the steering wheel and seats to the new Basscat buckets seats, I am sitting much higher now and my knees hit the steering wheel when I drive. I need to move my Hot Foot to the right to get my leg out from under the steering wheel. I remember the Hot Foot installer saying that he wanted to keep the Hot Foot to the left side of the driver’s side floorboard to ensure it had enough clearance underneath. Obviously now, I am going to be very cautious on the relocation after hearing that. I included a pic and put lines where each hull step down is and also included a rectangle as my guess of where the hot foot can be moved within as this is flat.
Questions:
1. I assume that I can move it to the right about 4 inches (inside the rectangle to the right), as long as it is in the flat floorboard area or can it only move a couple of inches to leave room for clearance underneath?
2. Do you just unscrew the hot foot and just keep the cable taught when finding a new location?
3. Are these typically self tapping screws about 3/4 to and inch long and just screw them back in the new position.
4. While I am doing this, should I update/upgrade anything like to a new adjustable hot foot or does this require a new cable etc…?
Thanks in advance
