I’m currently running a 24″ Fury 3 on my Pantera 2. No doubt that this is the wrong prop as I can get the speed out of it but cannot get the RPM’s up at WOT. I can get maybe 5700 rpms. I have a friend that can run a 23″ Trophy+ and get to 6200 RPM’s. I am considering the Trophy or a Bravo 1 FS in a ~24″ pitch.
Can BCB staff weigh in on running either one of these props on the P2. I’m not trying for mid seventies speed but I want the overall handling and to reach the RPM potential of the new 4 Stroke Mercury.
I welcome comments from anyone who is running either of these props on their P2 with the 4-stroke Mercury.
Our 2020 Pantera II with a 200 Pro XS is currently hitting about 5600 RMPs with a 25″ Fury 3. We have gotten up to 74 mph.
We do plan on getting a 24″ Fury 3 since we know someone that is wanting our spare 26″ Fury 3.
The Bravo 24 would probably be a good starting prop.
I would call Ronnie Gilbert and get some input. IMO its better to get a lower pitch prop and have it worked to the engine and boat.

Thanks for the comment Tony. Really you should be going even lower in pitch than 24. That won’t make much difference on your Rpms. I ran 74 also but it is not good for your motor to be only doing 5600 rpms. I’m no expert though and I believe everyone thinks differently on this subject.

Thanks Don. I’ll call him. Yeah the Bravo is a different animal than most 4 blades. I don’t want to spend the coin and then have the wrong prop. When you coming home?
Jim,
Did you end up not ordering the TrophyPlus? I have not been out to run the boat again since we talked as I came down with Covid over the holidays and have not wanted to get out in this weather. 2020 PII with 2020 200HP Mercury 4s (20 hours)

Bass Cat had posted on Bass Boat Central that they are recommending a 22p Fury 3 for the 200hp applications with the new 4 stroke.

Thank you Ricochet15. Yes I know that but I like the 4-blade props because of the lift they provide and overall boat handling is better too. You can see the results that Barrigj posted above with the Trophy + and I would be satisfied with that. Right now Mercury cannot deliver on a Trophy + because they are back-logged in production. Others have had similar results with the Bravo 1 (on another boat brand) and I’m hoping that BCB might reply with their thoughts on the Bravo 1. Maybe Mercury might have those available now.

Thank you for posting Gerard. I did not know about the Covid and as we discussed, I’m glad you made it through that. I like the results you show on the Trophy +. Mercury cannot supply me with one right now but I hope I can put my hands on one in the near future. If they had the Bravo 24 in stock I might just get one pending comment from BCB or someone else that has run one on a P2 or the Classic.
Others will benefit from your results as posted above too. Thanks
Actually on the Pantera II we would suggest a 23” Fury first. The 22” Fury we suggest be tried on a Pantera Classic.

Get with Clothing Gerard and let Dorry know you earned a Kudo for this post. If nothing else we hope you’re over the CoVid bug and can get back on the water.
Thanks for sharing!

Is the 23 Fury what comes with newly ordered P2s? Can a Bravo be ordered instead?
I think most are being shipped with a Fury (my 2020 PI came with a Fury3 24p). I believe most are dealer request/order so I think if ordering, the dealer can specify.
I posted this thread 2 months ago, so I wanted to come back and give an update on my setup. My goal was to find a prop that would give me RPM’s close to 6200 with the Mercury 4-Stroke ProXS and my 2017 Pantera II. I finally was able to purchase a new 23 pitch Trophy Plus. I installed the prop seal ring and closed off all of the vent holes. PTP measurement is 3 1/4″.
The results were remarkable. The hole shot is amazing and the mid range acceleration will blow your hat off. With two people and gear in the boat we did 72 MPH @ 6150 RPMs. The handling and driving is effortless and very smooth. The boat rides high on the water and just glides on top. When all of this comes together, it makes for a really fun boat to drive and enjoy. I’m done chasing props finally and couldn’t be more pleased with the performance of the Trophy Plus. My prop slip calculates to 6% using Mercury’s Racing Prop Slip Calculator.
I hope this information will be helpful to others that are trying to get the RPM’s up on their BCB Pantera II . Thanks to all who commented on my thread.
Thanks for the update Jim I have been following this post and barrigj results with the trophy plus. Good to know it’s working well for you also . I have the 24 fury and low rpm on my 2021 P2. Think I will go in this direction also!!! Thanks again Andy
