Propping out the 2017 Pantera 2 and new 200 HP 4 Stroke

I am interested to see how the Bravo runs on the PII. I am running the Trophy Plus 23 but would love to get my hands on a Bravo. WhT pitch are you going with?

Cajunhunter, I ran a 25p Trophy Plus on my 2s ProXS on PII. It would turn 5750RPMs and 71-72mph. It was generally 1-2 mph slower than when I ran my 25p Fury3, however, the ride, lift, and handling were excellent!!

Since the Bravos are originally cast in all even pitches, then cup is added to make the odds, I went with 25 for the bow lift. The struggles I’ve had with my Margay have me wanting lift.

 

If that prop isn’t perfect, I’ll be emailing Mark about a Razor 4XL. I love that prop.

I figured I may need to go up 2 pitches on the Trophy moving from the Fury as that seems to be the norm, thus mentioning the 26 Trophy Plus. The 24 Fury 4 had to be worked to get me off the limiter. On cold days my 24 Fury 3 will also hit the limiter. Thats with dual consoles and Twin Power poles.

I have someone that has a 26 Trophy Plus to purchase in the future. I can always have cup removed if needed. I ran a 25 Trophy Plus on my Sabre FTD with the 175 Merc. I figured the 200 Merc would want a 26.

71-72 mph with a 25 Trophy Plus would be great.

My P2 was delivered to my dealer today. I dropped by for a peak on my way home from vacation. Disappointed to see  a Fury 3 24P instead of the Bravo I requested. I assume it’s an availability issue. Anyway, I am going to have trouble getting to 6,000 rpm aren’t I? Should go ahead and buy the next Trophy 23 I see or wait for more Bravos to come out? If Trophy Plus, blowout ring or no? What about Power Tech or Hill Signature SL4?

PMantle you should have immediately had the dealer contact BCB and maybe they could have swapped your 24 pitch for a 23 or 22.  Maybe it’s not too late for that?  Anyway, you have a good looking P2. You will love it.  Yes you will need the blow out ring on your Trophy +.  I have no experience or knowledge on the Power Tech or Hill Signature props.  You will not be able to get the RPM’s you need with the 24 Fury.  Enjoy breaking it in and my advice would be to purchase the first 23 Trophy + that you see. I agree with you about the 4-blade.  I like the way it makes the boat feel as you drive it. Hard to explain but true.  I really like the Trophy but one day in the future I would love to try a 24 Bravo 1 just to see how it feels with that one.  For now I’m good. Glad you’re finally on the water.

Since Bravos are hard to find, I emailed Mark Croxton. He told me he has a new 4 blade coming out. I hope he remembers to contact me when they are ready to ship. I do not mind being a guinea pig as I do not search for every last MPH.

Update:

This is of course on a 2016 PII with the 2 stroke Merc 200.

I found a brand new 25 Trophy Plus from an individual and was glad i did.

The Trophy runs great on my PII, just as it did my Sabre FTD. I like the handling better then the 24 Fury 4.  Hole shot and mid range acceleration are really good. Top speed was a dead on 72.0. Easy to drive and control.

On my Sabre the Trophy would hook up strong in tight turns. I tried it with the PII and it never lost bite. I let off throttle, turned hard and hammered down. I was very impressed. If I had a passenger with me, they would have been in my lap. I was even able to hammer and spin it (Champion style). This will get you wet, but impressive to say the least. After, I found that it had sent one of TM batteries to the other side of the bilge. Strap let loose. New Battery trays with straps ordered.

The 24 Fury 4 has a slightly quicker hole shot low end acceleration.

The Trophy will be my permanent prop, and my Fury 4, my backup.

Great to read. I am going to take my used Trophy to a prop shop soon for some touch up. Probably won’t get to run it for a couple of weeks. Negotiating on a Bravo, but the seller doesn’t seem to log on often. If/when I get that one, the Fury will go up for sale.

Ok Trophy guys, what plugs, if any, are you running with the 4 stroke? The one I bought came with 4 mediums.

I am running two large, but on a two stroke. May take some testing to find what the 4 stroke needs.

Cavitation ring is a must on the Trophy plus.

I have the 23p Trophy Plus fitted with Cavitation Ring and all holes plugged with Solid plugs. I am also running a 3” Jackplate due to garage restraints on my 2020 PII w/ 200 ProXS 4s.
