I have a black trailer, white fenders and I have the pivot tongue. I want the step and the grab rail.

I really appreciate you BCB doing this!!!!!

Good post BCB. I have a Merc, got it from Sherm at Sherms Marine. He is the moderator of the BBC Mercury outboard forum. Very knowledgeable tech and reads the forum almost daily.

I had the same problem with my ’06 Cougar FTD trailer this last fall. Sherm checked it out and had to replace the solenoid as BCB said. I took my lock out key and attached it to the trailer, so I would always have it if it happens again. (That was Sherm’s idea!!)

I’m not sure how “easy” it is to replace the solenoid. For a service guy, it probably is. I watched Sherm replace mine and was really glad he did it, instead of myself…and I am fairly mechanically minded too.

Thanks for the info Judd. I am fired up to see the new Puma and Cougar. Hope Sherm has them on order.

BCB will reply to your post most likely. Another idea is to go to Bassboatcentral.com Contact Jeremy Lewis. Either make a post there or send him an IM. He goes by JeremyL on bassboatcentral. He just got a new BayCat a month or so ago. He can give you all kinds of info I would guess. I know he really likes his!

Ive had both…currently have a MG Digital Tour Edition now. Both are good motors. I like the MG better because its easier to pull up out of the water, unless you have the optional lift assist on the MK. That all being said. I doubt that it makes a nickels worth of difference.

Judd…any suggestions as to a brand of polish to get?

Ive been using BassBoatSaver to remove stains. Grease, spilled coffee, even Spike It plastic dye. Seems to work fine for me, just spray it heavy on the stain, let it sit for a minute, then gently scrub with a soft bristle scrub brush in a circular motion.

Thanks for the advice guys. I got some Meguires Polish and it worked perfectly!!! Now…should I seal it with a good wax or would BassBoatSaver be enough to protect it?

I remember those loran units. Never had one on a bassboat, but did have them on a couple of boats I used on Lake Michigan for salmon fishing. One of the lorans had a dash unit not quite as big as a small television!!

Ill second the vote for Progressive. Ive got complete replacement for 06 Cougar set at 46,000, high liability, accessories 7000, tackle, etc set at 10,000. Premium is $386per year. I live in Indiana. My agent told me that when I move to Alabama…the premium may go up some due to being able to use the boat all year long. So rates may vary depending on your location. Thats pretty normal for almost any type of insurance.
