Since your on the thread about the Cooper tires out here in C.A. the good old CH.P. has been pulling over trailers for some minor issue ( light out etc. )and if the trailer does not have the recomended trailer tires they give out a ticket. Not sure if it matters what the company put on or not. Are the bass cats out in to C.A. coming with Coopers or something else. I would like to replace mine this winter but it would help me with my choice. Thanks. Brian Chance. Pantera 3

Hello.. Thanks for your information Is your transducer in the middle or off to the side . Have you got any interference on the trolling motor unit from the motor. Thanks. Brian Chance

Hello. Thanks Catdude for the pictures. The new unit has Down Imaging. Transom Shield and Saver makes a side plate for the jack plate and a nice shield for the transducer i am thinking about getting to protect it. This is all new to me and it is replacing the old 7520 pinpoint unit or my Garmin 240 on the bow. I believe i should have a much better look under the water. I just can not afford the bigger HDS with structure scan. Thanks for your help. Brian Chance 99 P – 3

Hello. I have a 1999 P – 3 with the 6 inch manual jack plate. 99 200 Optimax. It came with hydraulic steering when i bought it. If i removed the jack plate everything would hit. The P – 3 is really stern heavy and needs the leverage to get the nose up on take off. I had to lower the plate when i switched to a 25 pitch Trophy as it came with a custom 25 pitch tempest with thin blades. It was raised up too high and the prop would blow out if the nose came down to fast. It would hit 72 and chine walk like hell so i switched. I think i settled in on 2.75 inches below pad and it runs up tp 67-68 with a light load all day and you can drive it with your fingers. I have a flipping deck and i have my old 12 volt trolling motor battery underneath for my night fishing lights and the extra 60 pounds right there helps with take off. You can see pictures of my boat on the owners page. Hope this helps. Brian Chance

Hello. I have a 99 P – 3 and i think it is around 3100 lbs . I think you can see past model weights . Usually i see an extra 100 – 125 lbs for each additional foot in boat/trailer length if you look at the specs of the new models. Things like bigger gas tanks and 1 extra battery could push it to 300-400 lbs however you load for towing to the lake. Hope that helps. Thanks. Brian Chance. 1999 P – 3

I have a 1999 P – 3. With no back storage i bought plano 3700 size boxes and have them under the flippin deck in front of the console so i can just grab what i need for the situation. Works out good.

Hello.  So it turned on after warming up for 4-5 minutes.  If it was an oil issue wouldn’t that come up sooner?  Thanks

Hello.  Updated info.  Had them drop the lower and the tube had a crack in it allowing air to get in and not all the water to go up.  Got the tube replaced and no alarms . I guess that’s what happens to a 24 year old motor.  Thanks. Brian Chance
