I think he is talking about the safety strap or chain from the bow eye to the trailer rather than the safety chain from the trailer to the truck.

I have found High 5 props on EBAY relatively reasonably a couple times. On my old tunnel hull a 25P high 5 was actually my fastest prop. I think because of the weight of the boat.–Bob La Londe Forums, Free Lures, Product Reviewswww.YumaBassMan.com CNC Molds N Stuffwww.CNCMOLDS.com

Interesting… Makes the boat look cheap. I wish you could add in the trailer, trolling motor, and outboard directly. Bob, There are too many options and variables to have a one cover jacket for all. You do add the trolling motor and options on some. Be sure you checked all the boxes as older boats didnt have engines. Simply adding the engine in will give you the indication of value, if your package does not have knee included. I ws excited to hear that Ike and Bass Cat got together. I took the time to read his book and found it to be quite entertaining. He seems to be a regular guy like the rest of us. That means he makes mistakes as well as having his moments of glory.
I’ll be interested to see how he and Bass Cat choose to market the relationship for their mutual benefit. I got out of his book that he very much about maximizing that relationship in both directions. Don’t sell your image for less than its worth, and give them everything they are paying for.

Any warm day (we have a lot of them here in Arizona) I just put the livewell on Aerate (3) and toss in a film canister full of Rejuvenade. I dont put huge amounts of ice in the livewell. Maybe a handful at a time. Lots of guys I know use small plastic water bottles 1/2 full and frozen solid at home, and just put in a fresh one every hour or so. –Bob La Londe Forums, Free Lures, Product Reviewswww.YumaBassMan.com CNC Molds N Stuffwww.CNCMOLDS.com
Ive been running a Cougar FTD for a little over two years now and its a pretty darn good boat. The boats Ive had prior have been dramatically different rides, but I really like my Cougar. Im also not one of those folks who think just because its what I have its the best there is. I dont need to do that to feel good about myself. It is a great boat. Even when I have had real issues BCB has been so responsive as to make them almost totally non-issues. By comparison I have had two other glass boats. an 18 Skeeter Starfire, which was a beater when I bought it, and a 20 Baker Custom Tunnel. Not much can smooth out the ride in light stuff better than that Baker, but I would never have trusted it to run 3-4 footers at high speed. Any boat except maybe a larger sportfisher will beat you up in that size wave action, but I trust the Cougar to get me there and back in that. Last year I ran nearly 60 miles at WOT in stuff like that in a tournament in order to fish a spot I had found in practice, and make it back to the weigh in on time. For my 4×4 of boats I run a totally flat bottom 16 jon boat with a 50horse. Its what I use to explore backwater channels, and run the river during low water conditions in the winter, but on pad that FTD doesnt actually draw a lot more water. The big difference is I can drag the tin boat off a bar. The cat is heavy. If it hangs up on a sandbar I have to wait for help, and of course sometimes the few inches of difference does make a differnce. At slow speed stuff though its sits as deep as any big boat, and some channels it just wont make it up. Anyway, after 2+ years and the removal of the rose colored glasses I find that its still a good boat. –Bob La Londe Forums, Free Lures, Product Reviewswww.YumaBassMan.com CNC Molds N Stuffwww.CNCMOLDS.com
Allstate wrote and cancelled my boat policy twice. 1st time said it was too fast, then the 2nd time said it had to much outboard. Was real annoying, Progressive was almost a grand, finally went with United Marine Underwriters for a little over 6 hundred. Allstate was the cheapest, but I got tired of playing games with them. I dont know what the deal is with Progressive. I hear about them haivng great rates on stuff all the time, but they have NEVER given me a decent quote. Always been the most expensive. Trucks, boats, motorcycles, etc… Speaking of Allstate… my rates have climbed astronomically since Katrina on my commercial work trucks, yet Ive had no changes in drivers, no accidents, no tickets etc in about 5 years. WHich insurance companies carry commerical that are not heavily invested in the south and east? –Bob La Londe Forums, Free Lures, Product Reviewswww.YumaBassMan.com CNC Molds N Stuffwww.CNCMOLDS.com
Sorry, guys. Dont know the specific cause, but I just incase…I have always tightened my prop nut down to firm by holding the blade by hand, then placed a block of wood between the prop and the lower unit and tighten it down to the next even tab or flat on the lock washer. It is never too loose that way, and as long as I keep a good breaker bar in the boat (I do) I can still use that adrenalin surge to break it loose to change a prop on the river while standing on a sandbar if I need to. –Bob La Londe Forums, Free Lures, Product Reviewswww.YumaBassMan.com CNC Molds N Stuffwww.CNCMOLDS.com
