FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MOUNTAIN HOME, AR (November 8, 2016) – Day two of the Bass Cat NTC came down to the wire as the two-day marathon closed on Norfork Lake. Pete Dubois and Ty Bowman climbed their way to the top with the largest limit caught during the final session. The new NTC Champions have earned an all expenses paid trip to Lake Picachos, Mexico in a few months.
This is the 4th annual National Team Championship, and it has proven to be one of the most grueling tests in competitive fishing. 18 hours of competition, five bodies of water and hundreds of miles in windshield time has taken a toll on the field. Dubois and Bowman spent most of their time working 3/4oz jigs, except for the White River session. Confidence in a simple presentation allowed them to effectively fish unfamiliar bodies of water, and it paid off.
After maintaining their lead for the first four rounds, the team of Brad Kell and John Morris were only able to bring one Norfork bass to the scales. The familiar duo has fought hard to earn their plane tickets to Mexico for three consecutive years. No other team has achieved this, and Bass Cat President, Rick Pierce, extended a special offer to the team to accompany the winning crew on their Picachos adventure.
The NTC was created to show appreciation for an army of loyal owners who stand behind their Bass Cats. Owners from coast to coast are competing in regional events to earn their spot in the tournament that very few get to experience. Regional qualifiers will be expanding in 2017, and all owners are encouraged to participate.
Bass Cat would like to congratulate all 11 teams that qualified for this event. It was a pleasure to share this experience with these anglers, and we truly consider all participants as members of the BCB Family.
